PODCAST: Hell Bent
It's the now-traditional "relaxed" final episode of a series of EHPodcast. Not because we're secretly drunk but because it's showing up days after you might expect given the scheduling of the rest of the run.
No mind, it's here now and - shock upon shock - it contains that rare EH? occurrence, the dreaded DIFFERENCE OF OPINION (brrr) wherein Joe and Chris - amazingly - don't feel exactly the same way about an episode. However, we muddle through without murdering each other, and that's true friendship.
Along with a celebrity guest cast (well, Donald and MB) we break down Hell Bent in probably the most lax fashion imaginable and actually come to some conclusions and stuff. It's ...riveting..., trust us.
Listen to HELL BENT and we'll see you after Christmas! x

PODCAST: Heaven Sent
Something that both Joe and Chris are coming to appreciate is how frequently the team in charge of Doctor Who pull a bold experiment. We prefer it even more when it works.
An episode consisting over 90% of Capaldi completely alone and in one single environment could be a huge, boring backfire or an exceptional tour-de-force. And if we can stop talking about musical instrument infidelity, novelty groinwear, Dark Souls, the stupidness of the English language and, of course, the Ultimate Warrior's astonishing death timing, we may even tell you what we thought.
So, strap in and prepare for some occasionally dark chat, (as well as a song called Crystal even though the episode itself says "diamond" and even that's not the stuff the wall is made of) as we become HEAVEN SENT.

PODCAST: Face the Raven
So she's finally gone, face-down in the street.
Clara, then, eh? Certainly the most ambitious, far-reaching set of character arcs ever crammed into one perfectly fine but somewhat nondescript figure. In Doctor Who. Apart from The Doctor. An impossible girl, created by leaf and destroyed by bird and scattered throughout time and space and also she kissed Jane Austen, you know.
Joe and Chris get decidedly unemotional as they cover this well-received, somewhat overwrought bit of telly and produce probably the only Doctor Who podcast this week to throw in an entirely relevant reference to The Rage: Carrie 2
We record at Joe's this week so naturally every idling car outside sound like a passing Star Destroyer but on the plus side, neither of us play any instruments and there's a shocking moment where one of us has a thought that's best not spoken aloud and we DON'T THEN GO ON TO SPEAK IT ALOUD. An astonishing development, I'm sure you'll agree.

PODCAST: Sleep No More
It's a feature of this year's EHPodcast schedule that we've been pretty relaxed, and this is the MOST relaxed we've been this series. That said, we have a solid rule that we always get the podcast out before the next episode of Doctor Who airs, and we're holding true to that extremely slack promise.
We could have had it out sooner, but that would have only been possible by completely foregoing sleep and after this episode, we chose not to be absorbed by monsters made of our own eye boogers or something.
Join Joe & Chris as they offer an impromptu Metallica guitar masterclass, sing even more solo acapella than usual, institute a system of head-slapping, misunderstand the nature of Spider-Man villain Shocker and, of course, discuss whether or not Joe takes ladies home in the evening.
Wake up and listen to SLEEP NO MORE.

PODCAST: The Zygon Inversion
It's the conclusion of the mostly well-received "ZySIS" allegory and we find out what's in the box.
Join Joe and Chris as they talk about poorly thought-out liberal wet dream scenarios, Achewood, Paranormal Home Investigators (though, often in the singular by mistake), obvious writerly tricks, trigger warnings, Joe's imbalanced affairs and the EMS VCS 3 as well as, of course, turning THE ZYGON INVERSION inside out.

PODCAST: The Zygon Invasion
Let's just say right now that this is possibly the most tangent-filled of our famously tangent-filled podcast. It's not that we didn't like Peter Harness's allegorical episode (about what happens when you don't let Zygons be Zygons), but just that on this occasion we seem to rather want to talk about pretty much anything else including WWII-era ballistics technology, childhood toys, professional wrestlers (believe it or not), Stanley Kubrick and Scientology-based jokes with, sadly, inaccurate aircraft model numbers. Also featuring an eight minute voicemail from Eric and his car.
Despite the tangents above, we had a great time and we hope you will at least have an acceptable time when you listen to THE ZYGON INVASION.

PODCAST: The Woman Who Lived
It's all Me, Me, Me with some people and such is the case with The Woman Who Lived, the immortal adventurer, thief and diarist who befriends big cat men with really unimaginative names and has adventures that are slightly strangely directed and scrappily edited.
Breaking it all down this week are Joe and Chris. Well, during the moments when they aren't providing a Black Sabbath guitar masterclass, giving us a potted history of the band Bow Wow Wow, over-confidently mispronouncing "Kumail Nanjiani", or failing to give enough exposure to Joe's excellent "Gillan Machine" pun.
Wrap your immortal ears around THE WOMAN WHO LIVED.

PODCAST: The Girl Who Died
"A Wing And a Prayer" Productions presents one of the most casual EH? episodes ever, recorded relaxingly late in the week and decadently released even later than that, we get to grips with The Girl Who Died.
Not like that. Oh God, not like that.

PODCAST: Before the Flood
Hello! As part of our unofficial plan to represent the end of your Doctor Who podcast week, and thus almost certain to never discuss any point you've not heard run into the ground already, here we are to talk about Before the Flood, the cold war-era, poorly-defined villain extravaganza.
On the podcast this week you'll hear Nicky arrive with some milk, a familiar voice for fans of the Dharmalars and The Lost Initiative, a mention of QI's vinyl podcast and a rare plug for Chris's other ongoing podcast The Last Word: A Press Gang Introcast with Chris & Alirio (sorry).
Heck, instead of reading a list of what is and isn't in the podcast, find out the hard way by listening to BEFORE THE FLOOD

PODCAST: Under the Lake
Reliably late in the week and painfully early in the morning, it's the Eleventh Hour Podcast!
Let's take Toby Whithouse by the hand and go on a charming adventure under the sea, where hollow-eyed ghosts throw knives at you and there's a terrifying submerged village outside.
Honesty time - I'm far too tired to write anything more than this. Listen to UNDER THE LAKE, willya?

PODCAST: The Witch's Familiar
Hello! We're back! BOTH OF US! You have been warned.
Joe and Chris get all face-to-face to discuss Dalek sewers, Missy's dancing, Witch identities, eyes, sunglasses and Chris Langham. Enough of this write up, get stuck into THE WITCH'S FAMILIAR.

EMERGENCY PODCAST: The Magician's Apprentice
Hello again, friends. Here is where you'd have found the all-guns-blazing, two-hour-long and fully triumphant return of THE ELEVENTH HOUR PODCAST, had evil computers not conspired to rob your ears of this wonderful treat.
Instead, because we really do appreciate our feedback contributors, and because we didn't want to leave the lovely listener with nothing - or at least no explanation - we hope you'll be happy with this brief, feedback heavy, emergency update produced via the rare combination of the latest computer audio technology and a 1995 Mazda 626.
Normal service to be resumed next week, until then, here's our emergency podcast for...

PODCAST: Last Christmas
Merry February, kids! Believe it or not, this is the second most punctual EHPodcast Christmas special ever, which is probably nothing to be proud of.
Last Christmas was a strange one. A tangerine dream of Santa, headcrabs, loss of self and loved ones and not getting rid of a companion again.
In a bizarre break with tradition, we don't have much to say here in the info, so go ahead and join Joe, Chris and, briefly, Nicky as we pull apart LAST CHRISTMAS.
For the screencap, we are once again indebted to KISSTHEMGOODBYE.NET
