PODCAST: Flesh and Stone

FUCK!

Battling against the odds referred to by Joe/Horatio in his lovely update explaining why the episode is going to be later than usual (although we deliberately don't have a scheduled release day), here it is after all.

Still - you should have a look at the previous entry to see the watch photograph that we mention on this episode.

Enjoy in good health, and see if you agree that this is possibly our strangest playlist to date.

Another great ep. Athough, I'm shocked you guys you guys didn't find any complaints about that scene with Amy seducing the Doctor. I found quite a few, ranging from "Doctor Who has become too sexual for my child to watch now!" to "If Amy's behavior is a side-effect of cracks messing with time, that's with the only way I'll accept it. If not, that Steven Moffat has ruined Doctor Who more than RTD did with his gay agenda".

God, it seems like you guys were right. There are people out there who watch the show and botch and moan about every single fucking thing that they perceive is wrong with the show. If they think they're so fucking smart and understand how the show should be, maybe they should have a go at being in charge once Steven Moffat retires from his position as showrunner. When people start coming out of the woodwork to complain about the stuff they add/change to the mythos, maybe then they'll have a taste of how hard it is to continue a long runner like this without pissing off a few people along the way.

I also liked that they were deliberately vague as to what religion those church militants were belonging to. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be an amalgamation several different ones, despite the ranks being Catholic in nature. Well, that's all I really have to say for now. Keep up the great work! By the way, as a huge gamer, you get extra brownie points for using "One Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII. I'm not a fan of the game, but I love the song. :)

I meant "bitch" when I said "botch and moan", btw. :P

Great comments, Kevin, and glad you enjoyed the Uematsu inclusion.

We're nearly always looking for places to use some of Yasunori Mitsuda's music in the podcast, too. Preferably something from Chrono Trigger or Xenogears. If we can, it'll happen. If not - I might just break the rules and stick Light from the Netherworlds on with no justification.

We forgot to mention that June 26 is the date of the series finale in England. That is, of course, if it doesn't take a week off for the Eurovision Song Contest, as it did in 2007.

Just got home from my brother's wedding, and I planning on seriously showering to perk me up before I go and watch "Vampires of Venice".

Anyway... Oh my GOD! If you were you play Chrono Trigger music, I'd be SO ecstatic because Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs I've ever played! In fact, I think I was tempted to make a video out of all the footage of the Cybus Cybermen, and set it to Lavos' theme! Then I thought better of it because I'm not very good at editing footage. Oh well.

Out of curiosity Chris, how did you like the Nintendo DS port of Chrono Trigger? I thought it was excellent. I loved the new bonus dungeons they added, I really enjoyed the new translation. Hell, I'll even go so far as to say that the Arena of the Ages was pretty cool, too. I even commend Square Enix for taking the bold risk of retaining the original SNES graphics for the port. In this gaming age of "Let's go all 3D and push the processors to the limit!", it's nice to see that some games are recognized as being fine the way they are and need little or no change at all.

I've rambled enough. I'm gonna go clean up and then download and watch "Vampires" and Doctor Who Confidential. Ciao!

Curiously enough, that DS port is one of the rare video games owned by both Joe and myself. I do love it, and finally got about as far as I did in the SNES version (illegally, via emulators, because it was never released in Europe before the DS version) but, as it often does, real life got in the way of an excellent JRPG leaving me to barely touch the DS for monthsapart from the occasionaly forty second blast of N+ before I remember how bad I am at it and turning the machine off again.

I've never actually played Xenogears either as that also failed to reach these shores, but the music is jolly fine.
